This is a special type of crop field, designed to be planted with ""cash crops,"" those that are high value, non edible and used to make other products - such as Cotton and Tobacco.  Most of these are categorized as Dry Goods.
If you plant these cash crops in a crop field and your food limit is reached, the field will not be harvested. However, if you plant them in a Plantation Field they will be harvested.
Crops that we recommend planting in Plantation Fields include:
Bamboo Canola Cotton Flax Hemp Sugar Cane Tobacco

Many Decorative Items cannot be deleted until they have been fully constructed. If items never seem to be completed, you may not have the materials required. For example, if you want to place an Apricot Tree, you must have at least 5 Apricots and 5 Logs in storage.
Not all Decorative Items can be removed using the Removal Tool.
If you click on the item, there may be a ""+"" sign or a trash can in the window.  If you don't see either, you should be able to remove the item using the standard Remove Structures Tool.
If there is a trash can, click on it to remove the item.
If there is a + sign, click on it to make the item impassible. After it is destroyed and rebuilt, use the regular Remove Structures tool to remove it.

Housing in colonial charter typically uses our own custom designed upgrade system. For most houses, when you click on it you will be presented with a colourful button allowing you to upgrade to the next tier. The house itself will not occupy any additional tiles on the map but it will get taller/bigger/have extensions added etc.
The above chart shows some of the houses and their upgrade paths.

Herbs are medicinal and will help keep citizens healthy when their diet is poor. Herbs are found growing under mature trees by the Herbalist.  They are also gathered by Laborers when all resources in an area are removed.  Herbs can also be grown from seeds purchased from a merchant and grown in a crop field; note that a crop field of herbs will not produce as many as other crop fields because of their higher value.
To use Herbs, citizens must pick them up from a barn or market and take them to the Herbalist.  It's not a bad idea to have two Herbalists - one in the forest and one in town so your citizens don't have to travel far to use their Herbs.
