Steam uploads are disabled while the game is in Beta status. A workshop version will be uploaded as soon as we're allowed.

 

Installing:
Disable/Delete any previous version of Colonial Charter, enable Colonial Charter Journey in the mod menu. 

 

NEW GAMES ONLY:
CC: Journey does require a new game. 

 

Introduction: 

Journey reflects a maturation of development of the Colonial Charter mod for Banished Game. Unlike in previous versions where we overhauled production and resources, with Journey you have more access to new buildings that utilise the existing chains. Many of the existing buildings have been revamped or replaced in entirety.

In CC: Journey you'll have an opportunity to build a truly rustic themed settlement in entirety, or using the new city wall kit and related new buildings you can build your own mini empire. We have added in all new pine tree models to the game as well as some new map types to expand the flavour of Colonial Charter. New start conditions are available that offer a variety of new challenges. We also remastered the forest audio, to allow a more natural, serene atmosphere.

We hope you'll enjoy playing Colonial Charter 1.7 - as usual, it was a lot of hard work involving many hours of creation and testing. Easily our most challenging mod to date. Friends and family were ignored for prolonged periods of "One... More... Turn..." as well as "I think this would look good... what happens if we add this new feature?". We hope to put the same amount of distance between you and your loved ones, for all the right reasons of course! :)

So I have never used any mods from outside of the steam workshop and I have no clue how to get it to load in game.

Awesome, I had a funny feeling to check in today and sure enough you have released CC 1.7! 

Megamod felt a bit too ramshackle for my taste so really happy to see a new CC. Thank you BLS team <3

Two questions:

1) Will you eventually be releasing on Steam Workshop so I can easy share to my friends?

2) I did not see in the change notes, has the alternative trader bug been fixed? IIRC using anything other than the vanilla river trader caused random CTD's in the last version - specifically when a boat pulled up at a new trader whilst another boat was already waiting at the vanilla trader.

@Cato Its going on steam today. Some few people may experience trader crashes, this is related to the games UI. Theres a workaround mod available for those people that alters some ui things to fix it.

I have previously been playing CC 1.6, when I change to 1.7 the game runs but none of the modded content is available. I'm running the non-steam version on Windows 8. I've tried uninstalling CC 1.6 completely and it still doesn't work. 1.7 is available and enabled in the Mods menu but no modded content shows up in-game or on the create game screen. Halp?

delete any previous MOD or try to clean install Banished. Hope it helps

Not sure if it's coincidence or what but with Journey, my game is suddenly having a ton less drag and I'm able to have 1000 people and it still runs well! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for whatever caused this! :)

is there any way other than google drive to get mods from here? when i click the download it goes to a page that says google can't scan the file since it is too big,i click downlad anyway and nothing happens. does this for the new journey as well as the maritimes mod. after further researching this google says it won't work since i am using iE9 and i do not use steam for banished. thank you

I have the megamod right now. Do I need this or is it in the megamod already? do I need to use both?

I see it says new game only, kind of dont wanna get this and make a new game if I dont have to. Unless it's better I do if its a big difference from whats in the megamod and seeing as how its 1.7 and this is 1.71

Edit: okay I got my answer, I do need to use both. I suppose I'll start a new game them.

i installed the mod like i would any other mod, didn't work so i deleted any other mods i had and tried again and still didn't work so uninstalled banished and reinstalled it and the mod a few times but still not working so i'm not sure what to do now any chance you can help ? thanks

Here's most of the questions I can think of:  Are you using Banished 1.0.6 (1.0.7 works too). Assuming you aren't using Steam (where you can subscribe to CCJourney from the Workshop), did you extract the RAR (or zip file) into a .pkm file? Did you put that in your Banished>WinData folder? When you started Banished, did you go to Mods and check ColonialCharterJ?  Are all other versions of Colonial Charter & the MegaMod unchecked?  Did you then exit Banished completely before starting a new game?  If none of those help, let us know.

i tried all of them but the only thing i didn't think of which you mentioned was my banished version haha stupid of me not to think of that, i'm going to check now, thanks for the reply :)

Got the latest version via Steam yesterday. Didn't see the shepherd straight away, (old man here). On an old laptop it apparently runs faster than previous modded Banished. Will hit pause on next attempt, and read through the icons properly. Good Job everybody!
