About This File

A series of Forester buildings that will exclusively plant and grow the orchard tree that is chosen.  These orchard trees will then grow the fruit or nut that is associated with your selection.  Then you can build a special Gatherer building that will automatically go around and collect these foods.

 

You know how the regular Forester plants regular trees, and those trees will grow Berries and Roots and stuff, and then your Gatherer collects them?  Exactly the same concept.  Plant some trees. Grow some fruit. Collect with the Gatherer.

  • The Orchard Gatherer is the first icon on the list you see below.  It is special in that it is the only one that will automatically collect these orchard foods.
  • The Orchard Gatherer will also act like a normal Gatherer if you place it in a normal forest.
  • Because these are still Forester buildings, when the trees reach maturity, they will be cut down for Wood and a new tree will be planted in its place.

does the orchard foresters work better with the intro of the special gatherer than they did in the last CC upgrade? ?never did figure out if it was mod conflicts or not. once i used them and they worked after i upgraded to 1.07 never could get them to work.always thought a mixed version would be nice say apples,pears,and grapes with a few nut trees to ggive the bannies a good variety.

I don't know what you mean by "working better".  I play tested the mod and found that it started producing fruit in year 4. It produces a little all year up to about 715 (1 Forester and 1 Gatherer).  Note that the Gatherer's circle is larger than the Forester's circle so the Gatherer also picks up the usual Gatherer stuff that's lying around.

that is good news. as i said i never narrowed it down to being Cc or another mod added causing the orchard forests not to function. they would produce but the gatherers would not collect fruits. the modular way has an advantage too,we can move the individual mods up in our orders to fix some issues.glad to see more parts being released.

i ran a quick test. these do work better even with the odd  looking buildings.any way we can get a mixed version? say maple,apple,walnut,pears,and some grapes?

A mix isn't really possible, I don't think.   Foresters are only able to grow a single type of tree.  Vanilla gets around that because there's actually 4 types of trees in the code, Oak, Birch, Pine and a 4th "All" tree that is the 3 trees combined.  But since all of the regular trees spawn the same set of resources, it's okay to combine them.  But since the individual orchard trees grow individual fruits, they can't be combined.

I love the concept but the mod its self crashed my game repeatedly [a map will load but in a few minutes it will crash]. I run this mod along side mega mod and some inedible mods and I don't know why it keeps crashing.

is your game upgraded to 1.07? have you tried changing the mod order with the inedible food mods? is your game crashing before you build any of the orchard mod?i would try the orchard mod at the top above all the other and if that doesn't work try it way below all the others. did you add any other mods that could be causing the issue or did the game work before the orchard mod added?

Hey @stiles, it was my fault :$, I'd forgotten to do the new mod procedure [enable mod, then exit game]. Once I'd remember do and actually did this the mod worked great, i love it.

Love this mod! I noticed when I use the White Mulberry Forrester I cannot see any Icon for the mulberry and I cannot use it to produce silk in the silkworm hut. Why?

there is 2 different mulberry's. the silk mulberrry has its own special orchard.is your mulberry forest orchard giving you red mulberries?

I have tried both of the mulberry trees. I get the mulberries in my barn, but the silkworm hut does not produce silk..
