Time for me to start a new town.  There are so many new mods out there I haven't ever used.  Thought I would ask everyone what their favorite mods are (besides CC of course!)

Having them all is awesome. Only bad thing is loading time takes forever.

One of my favorite is one year is one year, but not much people are that crazy.

 

Plus I like many "tiny" mods :

NoWind is great if you don't want to hear the "roaring" wind sound when zoomed out. 

Better rain sound replaces the regular rain "shower" sound by another one who sounds more realistic.

I like Better stock piles because it add a nice touch at the piles. Besides, Covering is perfect to protect those of the weather conditions.

 

I'm playing my new game with Natural Diversity and I really like the idea of using thatch for wooden-thatched constructions. Too bad it doesn't change the costs of others mods' buildings to add thatch as requirement too.

Well, @Ketchup, I didn't know this one.

It seems nice and I just downloaded it. Now, I wonder if I'm gonna try it on my current-rather-new game, or wait for the next new one…

( Edit: Ok I put it in my current game. One of my new laborer became back a child. Funny. :) )

It seems nicer, yep. But, hey, I just got a crash. I think this is because of the the laborer who became back a child.

I'll try again to switch the mods when everyone will be 10.

I've just downloaded the Norseman mod, will give it a go this evening. I've been wanting to have a go at the North after reading Tom's play through blog on it at WOB, but forgot to download it while at work earlier so it will have to wait. 

There are some fun ones coming out from Kid and Discrepancy, the house boats look very fun!

@Ketchup Is New Medieval Town OK with Banished 1.0.7 or do I need the Compatibility Mod?

it is ok. but if you use CC for 1.0.7, you will need to also load NMT ClayChain 3.0 to fix the change of flag of the clay and bricks. out of that it is all good.

A couple of screenshots of the new House Boats by @kid1293 with some additional buildings from @Discrepancy, @Ketchup, @Necora:)
Some decorations are from CC, and the foliage (Flora & Fauna) is:  Necora's Pine series, @tanypredator New Flora & @Bartender 's Natural Diversity, which is patched together with Necora's Patches.  :0)

Makes for a stunning view!! :D

All depends on what feel you want for your map @estherhb :)  Are you wanting resource based mods (so the NatDiv range), or new buildings, new forests?

Kid's Row House mods are also excellent :)  If you want more modern looking buildings, but then I also build a lot with Discrepancy's DSSV :D
For the forests I can't go past Necora's & Red's mods, and I always build every map, the Maritimes PEI shore buildings as well.  Excellent source of food.

 

Phew, there's a lot I can't live with in a map!!  

Now, this isn't an exhaustive list, I currently have 220 PKM files in my WinData folder :D

For information, (yep, quoting myself) 9_9

I did switch from one year is one year to Norseman when everyone was 10.

It didn't crash and the two children waited to be 16 to get together and have a child, as they should do with this mod.

I'll tell you if something crashy happens. ^_^

@QueryEverything just looking at your load order. I thought CC had to be above all the MM stuff? Also the new pine flora, natural diversity etc I've got at the top....perhaps I should re-arrange now lol. I never seem to get the load order right. Been having problems with natural diversity it slowed my bannies down to a crawl even on 10x speed which is a shame coz I liked it. Off to try your load order see what happens :)

Hmmm... I'm having that problem too... not sure yet if it's NatDiv - I had a mix of different mods that all spawn things (NatDiv, RK Fodder, New Flora etc...), so it's probably a bit much to have all on one map.

Else we need to ask if there there are maybe some really high poly models involved, or if the spawn rate is too high...

* with me it comes in "bursts" - things run fine for a while, then suddenly my frame rate drops slowly but surely to 0 and I have to back out to menu, wait a while, go back in... and wait for the next drop...  O.o

There is so much new stuff out in the last few months it's hard to pick a favourite. Kid's updated rowhouses look even better than they did before, likewise Red's canal update is great, and Discrepancy has been spoiling us with many great releases. Maybe just pick something new (anything...) and see where it takes you. :)
