but back to your game : what exactly you are planning for , for your game ? a kind of banished 2.0 ?

Yes kind of.

We need to get our new terrain system working well first.

What are you considering for object location or building placement and what sort of limitations?

Non grid buildings. Maybe some easy way to snap them to be grid placeable because some people like that. Large worlds.

Combination of the terrains you can imagine, land, beach, mountains, island. For the outside edge of the map there is no preference, we can put anything - land, sea, mountain.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out .... I've been following another game development here

http://www.synekism.com/

Obviously he's heading towards building big cities always assuming he ever gets past creating an alpha version of it.

Oh boy large worlds. Even on the CC Very Large Maps it seems small at times. I would like to see a series of maps that are linked in some way so you can ship items between maps. Maybe like one map you can use for resource production, another for forests, crops and orchards, then the villages and towns on another. The complexity of having to manage three or four maps that were linked in some way would be a quite a challenge.

This looks great. It's wonderful to hear that the game is progressing. Having seen everything you've done with Banished, with all the limitations, I can't wait to see (and pre-order!) your own game.

I must admit I am intrigued now.

If this is a Banished sequel, count me IN!

If it's not, it is still very interesting.  See this:  The only software I've purchased since the year 2000 has been Windows, Age of Empires Gold, and Banished.  If you can match anything like those aforementioned titles, then I will buy it.

Really excited to see this unfold as you guys create. Question about the people, one thing I miss from Tropico but not enough to play tropico was the interaction the people had with their environment. For example if you built up a really pretty area or made their neighborhood pretty they really appreciated it (thought bubbles were feedback not necessary) and hung around it. Sometimes the lack of interaction from the banished people is a bit disappointing. Do you guys plan on implementing anything like this in the game?

Status isn't known for sure.  The desire to do so is still there, but real life seems to keep getting in the way.
